At the CAPA 2026 POCUS Workshop, FAGONEX supported hands-on point-of-care ultrasound education with Sono Mobile® handheld ultrasound technology. The conference took place October 22–24, 2026, at The Westin Toronto Airport in Toronto, Canada. Sono Mobile® devices supported practical scanning activities, allowing participants to explore portable ultrasound imaging in an interactive educational setting.
The event brought together members of the physician assistant community and ultrasound educators to strengthen clinical learning through practical experience.
Supporting Practical POCUS Education for Physician Assistants
Organized by the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA) , the 2026 conference provided opportunities for professional development, clinical exchange and hands-on learning.
The POCUS by PAs for PAs workshop focused on practical ultrasound skills and bedside imaging applications. FAGONEX contributed Sono Mobile® ultrasound technology to support the learning experience.

Four Clinical Ultrasound Applications Explored at CAPA 2026
The POCUS workshop introduced participants to several clinically relevant ultrasound applications, emphasizing image acquisition, anatomical recognition and practical bedside assessment.
Ocular Ultrasound
Exploring ultrasound assessment of ocular structures, including the recognition of findings relevant to retinal detachment.
Focused Cardiac Ultrasound
Introducing focused cardiac imaging concepts, including the identification of pericardial effusion.
Lung Ultrasound
Developing familiarity with bedside lung imaging and sonographic features relevant to pneumothorax assessment.
Abdominal Aortic Ultrasound
Practicing visualization of the abdominal aorta and reviewing its role in screening for abdominal aortic aneurysm.
Hands-On Ultrasound Imaging in Action
Practical learning was at the center of the experience. Participants worked with ultrasound imaging displayed on laptop computers, illustrating how portable ultrasound technology can be incorporated into clinical education and skills development.
